Mercy Ships
Around the world, billions of people live with impure water, inadequate food, and little or no access to health care. With nearly 50% of Africa's population having no access to a hospital or doctor, approximately 30,000 children die each day from completely preventable causes. Since 1978, Mercy Ships has served the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs of the poor in the developing world through the use of hospital ships. Professionals from over 40 nations, with a common vision to serve alongside the poor, volunteer their services by paying their own travel and living expenses. Members of La Canada Presbyterian Church, Steve and Lisa Schwind, will be joining Mercy Ships long-term and invite you to partner with them as they serve the poor in Western Africa.
